Asprin will actually help your plants out by killing diseases. One and half tablets of aspirin in a couple gallons of water will be a wonderful help to the plants you have. Then spray your plants with this mixture to stave off diseases. Give your plants a spray of the aspirin-water mixture about one time every three weeks.

Plants growing in your home need a constant temperature of no less than 65 degrees. Your plants will not grow well if it is too cold. If you don’t like keeping your home that temperature in the winter, you may wish to consider getting a heat lamp, instead, to keep your organic plants the correct temperature.

If you are growing plants organically indoors, you have to consider the light that they are getting. Ideally, these plants should be kept in a room that offers natural light from a window or glass door. If you do and this does not help, consider investing in some grow-lights.

Add used coffee grounds to your garden soil. Coffee grounds are filled with nitrogen, that is a nutrient required by plants. Nitrogen is a nutrient that will help your plants grow taller and bloom faster, so use those coffee grounds, extra compost, or diluted urea to make this happen.

Regularity is the key to keeping your organic garden in order, don’t let your list of chores pile up. Sometimes it might prove difficult to get in a little gardening time every day. However, you shouldn’t fret, as there are a few things you can do that can minimize the time you spend gardening when you do manage to get to it. For example, if you are playing in the yard with your child, take a few moments to pull some weeds as well.

Consider solving your weed problem without the use of toxic chemicals. Try using several newspaper layers to control weeds. Weeds require sunlight for growing. If you put a thick layer of newspaper on them, weeds will not be able to get light or air, and they will die! Newspapers break down nicely over time to become part of the compost. Use mulch on the top in order to make everything look attractive.

If slugs are disrupting the balance of your garden, you can diminish their population by using a beer trap. Bury a canning jar so that the open mouth and the soil top are level. Pour enough beer into the jar to fill it below an inch from the top. The beer will attract the slugs and they will be trapped in the jar.

Now, you shouldn’t get your hopes up and believe that a few tips are going to turn you into an instant professional gardener. However, these tips are a great starting point if you do plan to grow organically. As you implement these tips and hone your skills, you’ll be a professional green-thumb-holder in no time.
